That gets you though the door, having the right look will get you cast, but the profession is called "acting", not "being attractive while muttering random words." Learning how to feel what someone else is feeling, conveying the emotion, truly expressing a story, is complicated, difficult, and something that many people devote many, many years to do. That's horribly shallow to believe that just because someone is pretty, they have everything needed to be a successful actress. It was a complete rumor and Boreanaz, himself confirmed that it was not true. Micheal Hurst(Iolaus) played a drunk guy in one of the movies as well, and wasn't Iolaus until later.
